Blood Alcohol Count
Is the concentration of alcohol in one's bloodstream, expressed as a percentage. Blood alcohol content, or BAC, is used to determine whether a person is legally intoxicated, especially under a driving while intoxicated law.
DWI/DUI
DWIs and DUIs are usually defined as driving while impaired by alcohol or other legal or illegal substances. BAC of .08% or higher, regardless of whether one's driving was actually impaired or affected. Felony DUI.
Implied consent
An unwritten agreement to submit to forms of interrogation or searches in exchange for certain privileges, such as driving or flying.
Repeat offender
A repeat offender is a person who has already been convicted for a crime, and who has been caught again for committing the crime and breaking the law for which he had been prosecuted earlier. The definition of the term and requirements related to repeat offender vary depending upon the crime that is committed.
Recidivist
A committed criminal who reoffends, especially repeatedly.
Restitution
The act of restoring something to its owner; the act of making good for loss or damage; repaying or refunding illegally obtained money or property.
Victim
A person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event action.
