Localized- is confined to the site of origin of the pain



Radiating- diffused pain around the site




Projected- result of proximal nerve compression




Referred pain- is felt in an area distant from the site to the painful stimulus

What is the difference in somatic & visceral pain ?
Somatic- arises stimulations of receptors in the skin or form stimulation of receptors in

skeletal muscles, joints, tendons and facia




Visceral pain- results from stimulation of receptors in the viscera



What is the difference in deep somatic & superficial somatic pain ?
Deep somatic - skeletal muscles, joints, tendons and fascia



Superficial pain- skin like a paper cut
