Neutrality
As a reaction to the French Revolution, George Washington released a declaration of neutrality, that stated that the US would support neither side in the conflict, and causing them to not enter the war.
Jefferson vs. Hamilton (Main Beliefs)
They had very different political ideas, which caused bitter disagreements. Hamilton believed in a strong central government led by the upper class, and Jefferson favored a society of farmer-citizens.

Pickney's Treaty
Pickney's Treaty of 1795 included virtually every concession that americans desired. Spain gave up all land east of the mississippi (not florida) and recognized the 31st parallel as the southern boundary of the US.
Jay's Treaty
John Jay tried to pass a treaty that disputed issues about which country would control territory west of the Appalachian mountains. The treaty passed to the senate but western settlers were angry at its terms, leading the british to continue their fur trade on the American side of the US and Canadian border.
