Marbury vs. Madison
|
Marbury, a midnight judge who never received his official papers. Madison suing to deny giving the papers, but failed.
The court brought the decision that it was unconstitutional. Since the Constitution did not empower the Supreme court to be able to make those decisions. Judicial Review was created, the ability of the Supreme Court to declare an act of Congress unconstitutional. |

Impressment

Impressment was the act of seizing Americans at sea and drafting them into the British Navy.
The practice brought hatred in America towards Britain for having their citizens stolen. Also brought Jefferson to start the Embargo act of 1807, thinking the stop of trade would hurt Britain, but damaged America more and later on was lifted by Congress in 1809. |

Ended with the reopen trade between the two nations and agreements in other treaties like the Rush-Bagot Treaty. Though did leave differences in the America still unresolved and brought more division between ideas of the war |
