Louis XIV's offensive in 1672 in which he invaded the Dutch provinces on the lower Rhine
League of Augsburg
Consisted of Catholic and Protestant enemies of Louis XIV. It included the Holy Roman Emperor, the kings of Spain and of Sweden, the electors of Bavaria, Saxony, and the Palatinate, and the Dutch Republic. When William became the king of England, England also joined.
