What is the definition for colony?
A region claimed and governed by another country.
What is the definition for Mercantilism?
A regulated econonic system to make another country rich. A colony would send furs to Europe for very little money, then the European country would sell the furs for 10 times its worth.
What is the definition for monopoly?
Is the complete control over resource. The europeans wanted to monopolize the fur trade. So French and British people were competing with each other.

Is a set of rules and privilages granted to a company by a king or queen.

Is an origional peice of information such as a document or image.

When two or more peoples of diverse or different cultures live peacefully. First Nations learned to live coexistiancely before the europeans came to Canada.

The ability to fight off and infection. First Nations peoples had no immunity to the dieseases and almost half of their population died out.

It means Daughter of the KIng. These women were brought to New France from the streets or orphanages and had no family. They were given a dowry from the king and was sent off to the new world.

Is large plots of land owned by a landlord. It was mainly noble men or women from a noble family who were the landlords of the land.
What is the definition to habitant?
People who inhabited the land. In france they would be known as peasents. They work for landlords or seigneurys.

These were people who worked independantly in the fur trade. They traded with First nations because this made more money than farming.

It means traveler. Voyageurs were men from new france who traveled between fur merchants in montreal and the fur trade forts.

These were habitants who did the farmwork. They had to give a few days of hard core labour to the seigneury once a year.

It means winning or getting control over morewealth than the other. The British and French were very competitive.

Is a person or group working between two other groups or points. A middleman connects these two persons together. The Ouendat were the middlemen between the Anishinabe and the French.
