Acromegaly
Is an endocrine disorder. Occurs when the pituitary gland (attached to the base of the brain) produces an excessive amount of growth hormone after the completion of puberty.
The excess growth hormone usually results from a benign tumor of the pituitary gland.
Someone with this is of normal height b/c the long bones have stopped growth after puberty but in other areas they grow abnormally.
Splenomegaly
Splenomegaly occurs with development of high blood pressure in hepatic veins and hemolytic blood diseases.

Splenectomy: When the spleen is removed, other organs carry out its functions.
Laparoscopy
(form of minimally invasive surgery). Is visual examination of the abdominal cavity using a laparoscope. Surgeons use laparoscopy to examine abdominal viscera for evidence of disease (performing biopsies) or for procedures.
Tracheotomy
Is an incision into the trachea to open it below a blockage. It may be performed to remove a foreign body or to obtain a biopsy specimen.

Tracheostomy: is an opening into the trachea through which an indwelling tube is inserted to allow air to flow into the lungs or to help remove secretions from the bronchial tubes.
Adenoids
Are small masses of lymphatic tissue in the part of the pharynx (throat) near the nose and nasal passages. They aren't endocrine or exocrine glands. And if enlarged they bock the airway form the nose to the pharynx.
