The first article is about the Legislative branch? What does it say?
Creates U.S. congress, and what powers states have and don't have, and describes how laws are created.
The second article is about the executive branch what does it say?
Decides duties and qualifications of president and vice president and their jobs

Section 1- Establishes Judicial branch and supreme court

States that the country is ruled by the people.
What is federalism?
When power is divided between national and state governments.
Why do we have federalism?
The articles of confederation failed and we needed a stronger form. Federalism is middle ground because its flexible and limited by state government also.
What is separation of powers?
Separating powers into executive, legislative, and judicial to make sure no one branch becomes too powerful.
What are checks and balances?
where each branch of government exercises some control over the other.
How are checks and balances used when passing a law?
Congress can pass a law, but then president can veto, but if congress has a 2/3 vote,they can override it. BUT then the Supreme court can ultimately decide if its constitutional BUT the president elects the justices BUT the senate must approve
What is Judicial Review?
the power courts have to declare laws and actions of local, state or national governments if invalid if they violate the Constitution.
