Application Letter

also called a Cover Letter, serves to introduce you to a potential employer

Letter Address

also called the inside address


contains the name and address of the person or company to whom your writing

Return Address

First thing to appear at the top of the letter. It contains your complete mailing address and the date

Salutation

the greeting that begins your letter, use the persons name or other for of address.

Body

The message section of the letter. Should be 3 or for 4 paragraphs long. Should attract employers attention, and interest in learning about you. Also create desire for the employer to read your resume and request that you have an interview with him.

Complimentary Close

A courteous phrase to end the letter. Sincerely and Cordially are good words for business letters. Your typed name should appear 4 lines below the close to allow space for your signature.

Resume

Describes your work experience, education, abilities, interests, and other information that may be of interest to the employer.

References

People who have known you for at least 1 year and can provide information about your skills, character, and achievements.

Reference Letter



A statement attesting to your character, abilities, and experience.
