How do licensure certification registration and accreditation differ? |
Licensure is a mandatory credentialing process established by law usually at the state level. Certification is a voluntary credentialing process whereby applicants who meet specific requirements may receive a certificate. Registration is a entry in a official record listing the names of people in q certain occupation who satisfied specific requirement. Accreditation is the process by which health care practitioner edu programs health care facilities and managed care plans are officially authorized. |

How are physicians licensed and regulated? |
-A physicians license can be revoked or suspended if convicted of felony, unprofessional conduct or personal incapacity. -Each states medical practice acts establish procedures for physicians, registered nurses and others also regulate the practice of medicine withing that state. |

Health maintenance organization (HMO) ^ Individual Practice Association- a type of HMO that contracts with groups of physicians who practice in their own offices (recieces a per member payment) Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) - a network of Dependant physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers who contract with an insurance carrier to provide medical care at a discount rate to patient who are apart of the plan. Physician-Hospital Organization (PHO) -A health care plan in which physicians join with hospitals to provide a medical care delivery system and contracts for insurance with a commercials carrier or HMO. |
