Peace Corps.
Service program set up by John F. Kennedy to assist other countries in need. The program both gives the United States a good name, cost little and in a way prevents communism from developing in these countries. Furthermore, it now serves over 207 contries
Cuba, Castro and The Bay of Pigs
Despite access to little military technology and no money Castro manages to take over the Small island of Cuba and overthrow CIA installed dictator, Batista. With a new communist regime in Cuba, Eisenhower and then Kennedy puts in a plan to overthrow Castro, this action is called the Bay of Pigs, a geographic location where Castro has a personal home. However, with no air support and Castro's profound popularity, he is tipped off and there is nobody to support the overthrow. The mission is a failure.
Berlin Wall
During the summer of 62, the Berlin wall is erected. It is divided in East to West Germany. This is also a symbol for the division brought on by the Cold War. For example, West Germany is Capitalist and East Germany is Communist.
Cuban Missile Crisis
In 1962, Keyhole satellite documents the presence of Soviet missiles in Cuba. The missiles are aimed at the United States, and every one is freaking out. "Brinkmanship". Fear of a nuclear holocaust haults the life of many Americans. However, John F. Kennedy keeps his cool and decides to wait out the situation, eventually Khrushchev returns missiles to USSR.
Gulf of Tonkin and Resolution
After big victories in the domestic realm with civil rights, During the summer of 64' LBJ is awoke to the news that a US Vessel had been attacked by the Northern Vietnamese. Being that the United States is not one to be attacked, the Resolution gave the authority to repel any offense against the United States.

Tet Offensive
During the Tet, North and South Vietnamese would take a holiday. It was during this time that the North surprised the South and it's American installations. Americans had to push back and eventually did get the North out of the south, but it took life's and tremendous amounts of effort.
President Lyndon B. Johnson will not seek re-election
After the slaughter of almost 540k Soldiers, LBJ fires General in command and decides not to run for reelection. Actions to bring the troops back home begin.
1968 Democratic National Convention
Sense LBJ was no longer running the next best thing was Robert F. Kennedy. He however gets assassinated, and the Chicago National Convention is a mess. A variety of different groups show up to protest, these include groups like Vietnam Vets who are suppressed by Police.
