Three wars

First war: Denmark; to prevent it from annexing the territories of Schleswig and Holstein. -Persuaded Austria to join Prussia in declaring war against Denmark. Austria and Prussia won the war.


-Prussia took Schleswig. Austria took Holstein

Bishmarck had 3 objectives. First he wanted to raise money to expand the army. Second, he wanted Prussia to use its military and economic power to reduce Austrian influence among the German states. Third, he planned to arrange the unification of all German states, except Austria and Switzerland, under Prussian control. To do that he went to war three times.
