What is a human need?
A human need is a perceived lack of something, based on an actual experience (e.g. thirst, hunger)
Explain the economic law of diminishing marginal utility.
When a need is satisfied, an additional unit of the good brings a lower benefit/utility to the subject.
What is the concept of demonstrated economic preference?
Where people pay for a certain good a certain amount of money or another source, and this amount can be different at different times.
Explain human values.
Understood as a subject's relatively stabilized judgements of something.
- they are embedded in the consciousness more firmly than needs, but can still change over time.
Give examples of environmental human values.
E.g. to breathe fresh, unpolluted air
What do values drive?
Value drive the perception of needs, human norms, and human interest (a term for the sphere of political science).
