Oedipus is mocked for being adopted, the Delphic Oracle tells him
he is desitned to kill his father and marry his mother. He didnt want to do this so he vowed to never return home and instead went to Thebes. Along the way he kills a nobleman and his attendants, not knowing that Laius is his true father, and the oracle is being fulfilled.

Sphinx commits suicide why?
Oedipus answers his riddle (Man-infant, adult, old age) and because of this becomes king of Thebes and Marries Jocasta (His mother, other half of prophecy)

The murderer of their king Larius is still among them, so Oedipus vows a curse on the murderer
Messengar comes from Corinth to tell Oedipus
Polybus is dead, Oedipus is to be King of Corinth, he doesnt want to go back in fear of marrying his mother, but the messenger reveals the truth that Oedipus is not biologically their kid, Jocasta realizes what has happened and hangs herself, Oedipus finds her dead and blinds himself

Leads her father Oedipus after he blinds himself. He goes out to Colonus, but is rejected there.

Antigone's uncle, becomes King of Thebes when Polyneicces and Eteocles die. He decides Polyneices shouldn't recieve proper burial, Antigone protests, Creon sentances her to be imprisioned w/o food or water, so she hangs herself.
Tiresias
Had a sex change because he struck 2 snakes who were copulating and was changed into a woman for 7 years. Prophet of Underword..how'd he get that? Jupiter asked who gets more pleasure out of sex, he agreed with him and said women, so Juno made him go blind but Jupiter rewarded him with the power of prophecy
