what is symmetry
An object or image has symmetry if it is balanced and can fit onto its self either by reflection or rotation.
what is a line of symmetry
A line that devides a figure into two reflected parts. This is also called an axis of symmetry or a line of reflection.
how many lines of symmetry dose a square have?
4,
1 horizontal, 1 vertical, and 2 oblique |
name 3 line of symmetry
vertical, horizontal and oblique
dose every figure or image have 1 or more line's of symmetry?
no, a shape may not have line's of symmetry
what is center of rotation?
the point around wich an object or design turns
what is rotation symmetry?
when a shape can be turned about its center of rotation so that it fits onto its outline more then once in a complet turn.
what is order of rotation?
the number of times a shape fits onto its self in one complet turn,
what is angle of rotation?
minnimum measure of the angle needed to turn a shape or desighn onto its self, Can be meshured in degrees or in fractions of turns.
what shapes have rotatinal simitry, and how many times dose it fitr onto its self.?
tringle, dimond, circle |
triangle- yes, 3
dimond- no, circle- yes infinity... haha |
