Goal of Education

to increase the competence and confidence of patients to manage their own self-care and for staff and students to deliver high quality care. The ultimate goal is to increase the responsibility and independence of client for self-care. Goal of education efforts is to improve the quality of care delivered by nurses.

Learning

A change in behavior ( knowledge, skills, and attitudes) that can be observed and measured, and can occur at any time or in any place as a result of exposure to environment stimuli.

Teachable Moment

The point and time when the learner is most receptive to a teaching situation; it can occur at any time that a patient, family member, staff member or nursing student has a question or needs information.

Nursing Process
