YJ- The yellow journalism, or tabloids, of both Pulitzer and Hearst added fuel to the flames of discontent by writing of the of the various(and often fictitious) atrocities that were occurring in Cuba, be it concentration camps or ships mysteriously blowing up. Teller- This amendment stated that, once Cuba was free from Spanish misrule, it would be granted its independence and not become an American colony. Platt- A backdown of Teller. It basically put America in everything but complete control of Cuba, making it a new. Insular- The insular cases rendered that the Constitution did not apply to all places under America's control, such as the Phillipines or Puerto Rico. |
