Produce Melanin or Pigment, which contributes to Skin color. It protects from the effects of UV radiation

Dendritic Cells

Branched Epidermal cells that trigger immunologic responses. Aided by T-cells

Epidermal Layers

Basale, Spinosum, Granulosum, Lucidum, Corneum

Stratum Basale

Base Layer. Deepest Epidermal Layer. Generates all other layers.

Stratum Spinosum

Spiny Layer. A Bonding and Transitional Layer Between the stratum Granulosum and the stratum Basale

Stratum Granulosum

Granular Layer. Contains Keratin Granules. Marking the Beginning of Skin Drying and Sloughing

Stratum Lucidum

Found Only In the Thick Skin of Palms and Soles. This is a Clear Layer Found Between the stratum Corneum and Granulosum. Lucidum is Absent in Thin Skin

Epidermal Growth

Replacement of Epidermal Cells by Cell Division Occurs In the stratum Basale

Epidermal-Dermal Junction

Between the Epidermis and the Dermis

Dermis

Also called Corium, Hide, "True Skin" The Thicker Inner Region of skin.
