Universal suffrage

The right for all citizens to vote regardless of gender, ethnicity, wealth or education. Further it should be easy to exercise their right to vote with provisions allowing citizens to vote from abroad. As well difficult voter registration should be avoided. This right is considered one of the main for democratic elections.

Single member plurality

In this system in which voters elect a single representative to legislature for their district. The candidate with the most votes wins even if they did not have a majority of the votes. This system provides a simple method for choosing representatives of legislation.

Proportional representation

This system distributes the seats in legislation according to proportion of votes received. A PR system ensures that no one party forms a majority government. Usually results in coalition government. This also provide accurate representation of voters support compared to other systems.

Mixed member proportional representation

A system in which some legslators are elected to represent certain districts based on gaining the most votes in that district. While others are elected based on the popular vote received by their party.
