Treatment of Native Americans by all

The English settlers relationship worsened with the Native Americans as the English expanded their land. This eventually led to war, especially with the original inhabitants of Virginia.

Impact of Tobacco
|
Tobacco was called "Brown Gold". Rolfe mixed tobacco from Brazil with the Native American tobacco and this produced high quality tobacco. All in all, Tobacco brought in a LOT of money.

Indentured Servants
|
Indentured servants agreed to a limited term servitude in exchange for food and shelter. After their term they would get a small portion of land, however many didn't survive until the end of their terms.

Bacon’s Rebellion (*importance)
|
Nathaniel Bacon planned it and he detested Native Americans. So he raised an army to fight them on the Virginia frontier. Governor Berkeley immediately declared the rebellion illegal.

Puritan Colony/Law
|
The puritans emigrated in order to create a model new society. John Winthrop was their first governor and called it a "city upon a hill".

Different colonies
|
Many middle colonies settled during this time period. For example, the Dutch settled New Nether land and English Quakers led by William Penn settled in Pennsylvania.

Jamestown 1607
|
Jamestown began to flourish in 1607 due to the fact that they stabilized and the colony began to expand farther inland along the James River. Jamestown was huge in the growth of tobacco and exported 1.5 million pounds of it annually.
