What is the Binary Coding System?

Called ASCII, it is made up of a series of zeros and ones. A binary Character is refered to as a bit.

An Internal HD is the HD that is inside the computer itself. An External HD is located outside the computer and is often connected through a USB Port.

What is a USB Port?

A USB Port is generally located of the back or front of a PC or on the sides of a Laptop. It allows for greater flexibility and usage of mobile devices such as Flash Drives and Digital Cameras.

What determines the amount of memory a computer can hold?
|
Generally measured in kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes, the computers memory is measured on the amount of kb, mb or gb it can hold. Terabytes are becomming a common thing with the advancement of technology.

RAM = Random Access Memory
RAM is temporary memory that is designed to hold new data and is available only while the computer is turned on. |

What is ROM?

ROM = Read-Only Memory
ROM is permanent internal memory inside the system, and is inaccessible by the user, and is used to store instructions that are installed or programmed at the manufacturer. |
