What is CAD?
Computer Aided Design
What is rapid prototyping?
Provide a definition of the term. |
Rapid prototyping consists of a family of fabrication processes that build an item in fine layers. It was developed to make engineering prototypes in minimum possible lead times based on a computer-aided design (CAD) model of the item.

What is Virtual Reality modelling?
Virtual reality modelling allows designers the opportunity to see and manipulate their designs in a photo realistic, 3-D environment. This can be useful when talking to clients who can see their products in restaurants interiors, at table settings, shop displays and so on.

What is Desktop Publishing (DTP)?
Refers to the activity of using software to produce documents with extensive control of the form and appearance of individual pages.
Images, Text and Backgrounds can be easily modified and positioned. Completed Design work can then be seamlessly sent electronically to Printers for reproduction |

The process of converting 2D shapes into patterns of pixels to produce an image.
What is CGI? |
CGI stands for Computer Generated Imagery The visual scenes may be moving or still, and may be two-dimensional (2D), though the term "CGI" is most commonly used to refer to 3D computer graphics used for creating scenes or special effects in films and television. |
4 Advantages of CGI |
Elaborate TV/Movie scenes can be created without the need for expensive set constructions Dangerous effects can be recreated without risk to Human safety Effects can be achieved, which in real life are impossible. (ie Monsters, Person Flying or floating) Only limited by our imagination! |
3 Disadvantages of CGI? |
Requires very expensive equipment to create the effects Requires Highly skilled operatives and technicians to do the work Long and highly precise process |
