Featuring black cherry, plum, earth and spice flavors. Full and complex, with fine balance and a lingering aftertaste of tobacco and spice. Two red wines of Tuscany are as familiar to Americans as they are to Tuscans themselves — Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. But we are far less acquainted with a third, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.That's regrettable because Vino Nobile sweeps the Tuscan trifecta: It's all, or predominantly, made of the great grape sangiovese; it's terrific with food; and it's Tuscan. In addition, especially compared with Brunello, it's a steal.
