No specific assessment or dx test can accurately identify conclusively. Occurrence peaks in late teen years.
s/s: McBurneys Point(TTP 1/2 between naval and iliac crest).Diffuse migrating to RLQ within hours or day. Rosvings sign(LLQ pressure increases RLQ pain) |

Acute Pancreatitis |
Inflamation of pancreas, release of digestive enzymes causing autolysis.
Causes: obstruction(gallstones), injury, infx, ETOH, Meds(steroids, diuretics), anything that makes the pancreas work hard(a big meal) |

Choleycystitis: description, s/s |
Inflammation of gallbladder, caused by blockage infx or tumor. Gallbladder produces bile to breakdown fat.
s/s: sharp, constant colicky pain, RUQ, can be referred to R shoulder, Jaundice if backing up to liver

Palpate under R sided rib cage, when you touch gallbladder "cessation of inspiration"(they catch their breath)
