what are eukaryotic cells?

any other cells that is not a bacteria cell

what is the nuclear envelope?

double membrane that surrounds the nucleus. its outer membrane is continuous with the endoplasmic reticulum and often has ribosomes on its surface to help synthesize proteins. controls entry and exit of material in and out the nucleus.

what is a nuclear pore?

allow the passage of large molecules such as messenger RNA out of the nucleus. Typically around 3000 pores in each nucleus.

what is nucleoplasm?

the granular jelly like material that makes up the bulk of the nucleus

what is chromatin?

is the DNA found within the nucleoplasm. this is the diffuse form that chromosomes take up when the cell is not dividing.

what is the nucleolus?

is a small spherical body within the nucleoplasm. it manufactures ribosomal RNA and assembles the ribosomes.
