What are the two ways to prepare slides?

Dry mount and wet mount.

What is a wet mount?

Put a drop of water onto the slide.

How does a laser scanning confocal microscope work?

Specimen is fluoresently dyed, a laser is then scanned over it. The light which shines back is concentrated into a pinhole and onto a detector.

Transmits a beam of electrons through a specimen. The denser parts absorb more electrons.
