What is an Organelle?

Parts of the cell that performs a specific function for that cell Eg. Nucleus

What is a Prokaryotic Cell?

Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus presend and do not have membrane-bound organelles such as nuclei

What is Eukaryotic cell?

The nucleus is present and membrane-bound organelles such as nuclei are present

What does mitochondria do?

They provide energy to the cell through respiration (reason why they are called the power house of the cell)

What does the mitochondria have?

It has a double membrane bound organelles and has its own loop of DNA

How does energy in the mitochondria work?

Cells with lots of mitochondria (muscles) produce alot of energy

Cells with little mitochondria (fat in humans) produce less energy

Infoldings in mitochondria

Inner membranes of the mitochondria produce energy especially in the foldings

The more foldings the more energy is released

What is Chloroplasts? (Plant only)

They are a green structure in plants in which photosynthesis takes place

What does chloroplast have?

They are surrounded by double membranes and have membrane stacks which contain green pigment chlorophyll

They also have a loop of DNA
