Engine Compartment
Alternator: secure not cracked or broken, no frayed wires and is belt driven

Water Pump: secure, not cracked, broken, or leaking and is belt driven

Serpentine Belt: drives the alternator and the water pump, it should have proper tension of 1/2 to 3/4 inch play and in good condition

Air compressor: secure, not cracked, broken, or leaking and gear driven

Power steering pump: secure, not cracked, broken or leaking and its gear driven

Oil: check level, it should be between add and full

Transmission Fluid: between add and full, checked when the engine is at operating temperature

Hoses: securely mounted, not leaking

Wires: securely mounted, not frayed
Drivers Area
Start Up (four checks) bus in neutral, parking brake is set, throttle lock is off/released, and all electrical switches are off. start up the bus
Glass Miscellaneous
Windshield: clean, not cracked or broken

Mirrors: exterior and interior mirrors set for me, clean, not cracked, not broken

Door: locks open and closed

Steering Wheel Play: not to have more than 10 degrees of play

Horn: works
Electrical Board
Heaters and defrosters: check them all including the drivers heaters and defrosters

Windshield Wipers and washers: check hi and low and fluid
dash board lights
Left turn signal: works
Right turn signal: works
Four way hazards: works
dash interior lights: to see if these work, put on headlights. check the step light to see if it is on

High beam indicator: keep headlights on, turn on high beams to see if they work
Gauges
Amps: charging

speedometer: working when the bus is in motion

Fuel: enough for the trip

Volts: should be between 12 and 14

Engine Temperature: gradually raises, normal range between 160 and 190 degrees

brake pressure: 120 to 125 psi

Gears: run freely

oil pressure: 20 to 80 psi
Air Brake Checks
Parking Brake test: With the bus running, and the parking brake set, put the bus in drive and slightly accelerate. if the bus does not move the parking brake works

service brake test: push in the parking brake, put the bus in drive, and slowly accelerate till the bus moves, then stop the bus

leakage rate test: now turn the bus off, turn the electric on, put your foot over the brake and push in the parking brake. Hold the brake down for one minute. after the initial drop, gauge should not drop more than 3 psi in one minute

Warning light and buzzer test: now pump the brake, when the gauge reads around 60 psi the warning light and buzzer will go on

Pop out test: keep pumping the brake between 20 and 40 psi the parking brake should pop out
Last Step
I am finished with my pre trip inspections except for checking the exterior lights, can you please check them for me? the lights i will be checking are in the front: clearance lights, headlights, high beams, right turn signal, left turn signal, and four way flashers.

ON the side of the bus the lights i will be checking are my clearance lights: and mid ship turn signals

on the rear of the bus the lights i will be checking are clearance lights, right turn signal, left turn signal, four way flashers, running lights, and brake lights
