The degree to which decisionmaking is concentrated at a single point in the organization, top managers make all decisions and lower level carry out their orders.
Decentralization
the gree to which lower level employees provide input or actually make decisions, decision making pushed down tothe managers who are closest to the action.

Prohibits employers from discrimnation against individuals with physical or mental disablilities or the chronically ill: also requires organizations to reasonably accommodate these individuals
1991 Civil Rights Act
Reaffirms and tightens prohibtion of discrimination permits individuals to sue for punitive damages in sases of intentional discrimation
1993 Family and Medical Leave Act
Permits employees in organizations with 50 or more workers to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave each year for familty or medical resaons

Allows portability of employees health insurance from one employer to another.
