the lotus flower symbolises Fortune, Purification and Faithfulness. it rises above muddy water (which can signify death, evil and suffering) to achieve enlightenment. The stages of growth in a lotus flowers life also represent the stages of enlightenment a Buddhist might have. the colour of a Lotus is also important, white can mean purity while red can mean passion. |
