What is a biome?
A large geographical region with specific ranges in temperatures and precipitaion.
What is muskeg?
Soil above the permafrost that is swampy or boggy in the summer.
What is an ecotone?
A transition area between ecosystems.
What is an ecological niche?
An organisms role in an ecoststem, consisting of its place in the food web, its habitat, its breeding area, and the time of day in which it is most active.

Similar structures but different functions.

Similar in appearance and fuction but do not appear to have the same evolutionary origin.

Speciation by reproductive isolation.
What is divergent evolution?
Evolution into many different soecies.
