an early warning system was set up in 2006 to ensure the counties would be adequately warned in advance

-warnings could be passed out by tv, email and/or radio. even by megaphones and loudspeakers attached to mosques.

what plant was restored?

-mangroves were planted again after being taken down for tourism. these slow down waves by absorbing the waves power


-these also restored the locals livelihoods as they could fish more. it allowed fish to breed in the mangroves.
