Treponema pallidum:
What does it cause?

Treponema:
Other than T.pallidum, where are the other species found?
They are normal flora of the mouth. The can be involved in pathology.
Treponema vincentii:
What can it cause?
'Trench mouth' or Vincent's angina. Painful gingivitis.
Borrelia recurrentis:
What does it cause?
Recurrent fever.
Borrelia burgdorferi:
What does it cause?
Lyme disease.
Leptospira:
What does it cause?
Usually an animal pathogen but can cause leptospirosis in humans.

Similar to T.pallidum. Causes Pinta. Symptoms similar to secondary syphilis.
T.vincentii:
What does it cause?
Aerobic?
Vincent's angina (trench mouth)
