external rotator test=externally rotates their arm against resistance when elbow is at 90 degree angle
how do you test supraspinatus?
empty can test=internal rotation
What is neer's test? what is it used to diagnose?
impingement syndrome=passive
examiner internally rotates patients arm, then forward flexes the straight arm if possible. positive result at any angle/observe patient's face
what is hawkin's test? what is it used to diagnose?
impingement syndrome also=patient forward flexes arm and elbow while examiner internally rotates the arm in attempt to grind humerus against coracoacromial arch.

speed's manuever examines bicep tendonitis. patient starts at 90 degrees flexion and try to go to 180, examiner resists.
Decreased DTR indicates what?
a problem in the afferent-spinal cord-efferent loop
increased DTR indicates what?
loss of control in upper motor neuron causes in increased DTR (classic cause of increased DTR=stroke)
