Observation
a statement made based upon our 5 senses
Inference
an interpretation of the observations or a form of inductive reasoning

You create a question. Indentify the IV and DV. Set up the experiment to manipulate the IV. Write out procedure and materials and hypothesis and test it

the variable that is purposely changed

the variable that changes based upon the manipulation of the IV

a proposed explanation for a set of observations and inferences: “If…Then…because” form
Controlled experiment
when all the variables except the DV and IV are kept the same througput each trial
Control group
the group of data that is not effected by the IV. All other data is compared to it
