Assumptions |
Assumes behaviour is innate, all physiological then psychological. Nothing is learnt. Behavioural traits are passed on through genetics, closer you are related to someone the more likely the traits are common. |

Studies |
Uses twin and adoption studies. Concordance rates between twins, if purely genetic then concordance is 100% in MZ twins and 50% in DZ twins. Adoption studies are used to control the role of the environment. Adopted children are compared to both the adopted and biological parent if concordance is high with bio parents then it is biological, never 100% concordance so other factors at play. |

Atypical hormone exposure leads to atypical behaviours. See in testosterone the male hormone-linked to aggression. Violent and non-violent offenders compared on testosterone levels. Violent offenders had higher levels. |
