How are Dietary lipids processed?
Mouth - Lingual Lipase

Stomach - gastric lipase

Lipases act on TAGS (triglycerides)

Lingual/Gastric Lipase:
-pH = 4-6
-acid stable - acid lipases
-act on short and medium chain FA and TG
-digestion by these lipases is significant in Newborn (milk fat = primary source which are short and medium chain FA) and patients with pancreatic lipase insufficiency
