Mass Number

Also called (atomic mass) is the number of protons plus the number of neutrons of that element.

It is possible to determine the number of neutrons by subtracting the atomic number from the mass number.

Isotopes

Different forms of the same element that have the same number of protons, but a DIFFERENT number of neutrons.

Radioactive isotopes

Isotopes that are unstable and may lose protons, un atomic particles or energy to form more stable elements.
