Central nervous system. Peripheral nervous system.

Central nervous system is the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is the cranial and spinal nerves.

Somatic CNS

The somatic means outside. Sensory input is things like taste smell hearing touch site. The output is the skeletal muscles.

Autonomic CNS

Autonomic means what’s inside. The sensory input or things like stretch temperature BP and osmotic. The outputs are things like cardiac, smooth muscles, and glands.

Cells of the nervous system.

Neurons are the long cells that transmit the messages.

Glial cells support them

What is this cell?

Astrocytes- most abundant and versatile neuralgia. For my living barrier between capillaries and neurones help determine capillary permeability and play a role in making exchanges between the two.

What cell is this

Microglial - spiderlike phagocyte that monitor the health of the nearby neurons and dispose of debris such as dead brain cells and bacteria.

What cell is thins?

Oligodendrocytes - neurolgia that wraps their flat extensions tightly around the nerve fibers, producing fatty insulating covering called myelin.

Label this neurone

Dendrites, cell body, axon, terminal branches, and terminal buttons
