THYROID

Produces thyroxine nd thyroxine produces iodine.



If the diet is shrt of iodime the thyroid becomes larger to get a sufficient amount this can lead to a swelling called goitre.



Lack of thyroxine in children causes growth to stop this is called cretinism



Lack of thyroxine in adults can slow down activites nd cause ppl to become tired and lose weight


PANCREAS

Cells within the pancreas called the islets of langerhans produce insulin.



Also produces glucagon



Insulin converts allllll glucose to glycogen for storage



And glucagon converts glycogen to glucose for energy use.



Diabetes is a disease caused by a lack of insulin. Person cannot control their gluucose level ..glucose rises in the blood and some is excreted in the urine person lacks energy nd is tired and weak.. they have to take injections of insulin.
