Deciphering patterns or cause-and-effect relationships. |

What is a null hypothesis? |
A hypothesis that proposes a lack of relationship between two factors. |

The act of making an educated guess as to the outcome of the situation. |

What are blind and double-blind experiments? |
Blind - When the subjects do not know what treatment (if any) they are receiving. Double-Blind - An experimental design in which neither the subjects nor the experimenters know what treatment (if any) individual subjects are receiving. |

What is a theory, and how is it different from a single experiment? |
An explanatory hypothesis for a natural phenomenon that is exceptionally well supported by empirical data. It's different than a single experiment because it is unlikely to be altered by new evidence. |
