- Establishes a strong osmotic gradient in the interstitial fluid surround the loop

- Osmolarity increases as the loop descends

Distal Tube

- Reabsorbs ion and water after the loop of Henle

Collecting Duct

- May reabsorb more water to maintain homeostasis

- Connected to multiple nephrons

Glomerulus

- Cluster of capillaries in the Renal Corpuscle

- Brings blood from the Renal Artery

Bowman's Capsule

- Region of nephron surrounding the Glomerulus

Vasa Recta

- Network of blood vessels that runs along the loop of Henle and eventually joins up with the small veins in the kidney
