What happened after the Great War?
France demands the strict fulfillment of the treaty of Versailles. Germany owned 33 000 million dollars. There was inflation in Germany. Then the Dawes plan was a proposal to cover the reparations that consisted on reduces of reparations, annual payments, loans and is for five years.
Then there were treaties signed. Treaty of Locarno made the frontiers of France, Belgium and Germany. Kellogg-Briand Pact consisted on renouncing war.
How was doing the US?
It had economic prosperity, it promoted industrialization, made the American way of life: consumption. There was immigration and the US closed the borders, fear of socialist ideas, lots of racism, dry law and mafia emerges.
What is the great depression?
Is an economic collapse in the 20s. There was economic decrease, unemployment and inflation. There was weak banking system, the US stock market financial crisis.
Explain what did Roosevelt do to solve the economic crisis.
Federal Emergency Relief Administration: promoted industries and gave money to operate projects.
Works Progress Administration: employed workers in roads, post offices, etc.
Social Security Act: New social security program, pension for the elderly and unemployment.
US Housing Authority, Farm Security Administration, Fair Labor Standards Act: Set maximum working hours and minimum wage.
Explain the totalitarianism.
It was when the government controls every single aspect of a citizen´s life centralizing the power. Control population by propaganda and secret police, state leaded by a single party.
