how to become British?

Born in the UK- automatically a citizen if born in the UK and parents married and one parent a British citizen, or if unmarried, the mother is a British citizen.


Adoption- adopted by a British citizen


Descent- if the child is born outside the UK but has British parents


Registration- child born in the UK can qualify for a British citizenship at 10 if thy haven't spent more than 90 days a year abroad.


Naturalization- if you have: lived in the UK for 5 years; can show understanding of English, Welsh or Gaelic and British culture; complete a language and knowledge test; complete and application form and pay £150; attend a citizenship ceremony.
