With 13-19 HCP
Open at 1 level IF:
you have 5-card major, bid major
NO 5-card major, bid your best minor, in hopes that your partner will respond with a 4-card major.
Double if the opponents have bid and you are SHORT in their suit.
15-17 HCP
With a balanced hand, bid 1NT
Without a balanced hand, bid as above.
IF you have 6-cards, jump in that suit on next bid to show points. OR, if you find a fit with your partner, jump in that suit
18-19 HCP
No matter what your shape is, start the bidding on the
1-level and jump into a different suit or NT on your second bid (jump shift).
If opponents have already bid, double, then bid, regardless of your shape.
22+ pts.
Start with 2C Says nothing about clubs, but tells partner you have 22 pts.
If opponents have bid, double, then bid regardless of your shape.
5-10 HCP and long suit (preemptive bidding)
must have 2 of 3 or 3 of 5 honors in that suit

6 of a suit (except clubs) bid 2 of that suit
7 of a suit, bid 3 of that suit (includes clubs)

Unless your partner bids NT or a new suit (both forcing bids), do not bid again.

If 8 of a major suit--bid 4!

3 NT: 26 HCP
4H/4S: 26 points (can be from distribution)
5C/5D: 29 points (can be from distribution)
6 of anything : 33 points (including distribution if you’re in a suit)
7 of anything: 37 points (including distribution if you’re in a suit)
