What is blood pressure measured in and how is it written?

Millimeters of mercury. mmHg

It can cause blood vessels to burst which can cause damage to the brain which often causes a stroke. It can also damage the kidneys

How can smoking increase blood pressure?

Carbon monoxide decreases the oxygen carrying capacity of blood. It combines with haemoglobin preventing it from combing with oxygen so less oxygen is carried.

What causes heart disease?

Restricted blood flow to the heart muscle

What increases your risk of heart disease?

High level of fat in diet which builds up cholesterol (a plaque) in arteries. High levels of salt

Why is plaque in arteries dangerous?

It narrows them which reduces blood flow. It also makes blood clots or thrombosis which will block the artery.
