Quantitative Variable

A variable that can be measured numerically.

Discrete Variable

A variable whose values are countable. Can only be certain values with no intermediary values

Continuous Variable

A variable that can assume any numerical value over a certain interval. Height of family members, temperature, etc.

Qualitative Variable

A variable that cannot be expressed numerically and can be sorted into two or more categories. Hair colour, favourite car, etc.
