Looks at proportions of secure,insecure avoidant and insecure resistant attachment across a range of countries. 32 studies of attachment where as had been used. 8 countries 15 in USA 1,990 children overall Found- variations between results of studies with same county were 150% greater than those between countries. |

Bowlby 44 thieves |
Interviewed for signs of affectionaless psychopathy-lack of guilt, lack of empathy. 14/44 thieves were affectionaless psychopaths. 12 had experienced prolonged separation from mother in first 2 years. Control group- 2/44 experienced long separation. Concluded- prolonged early separation/deprivation caused affectionless psychopathy. |
