The warm, moist air rises into cooler parts of the atmosphere, causing the water vapor to form drops of water.

What is precipitation in the water cycle?
As more vapor condenses, it forms rain, sleet, or snow that falls back to the ground.
What is an air mass?

It is a huge volume of air that is responsible for certain types of weather.
What is atmosphere?

What is a front?
It is a narrow region between two air masses that are warm or cold.

What is the mesosphere?
It lies above the stratosphere and is the coldest layer of Earth's atmosphere.

What is the stratosphere?
The cold, dry layer of Earth's atmosphere above the troposphere, contains most of the ozone that protects against radiation from the sun.
What is the thermosphere?
It is the very thin layer of Earth's atmosphere, first to be struck by sunlight.

What is the troposphere?
It is the layer of Earth's atmosphere closest to Earth's surface and contains about three-fourths of the atmosphere's gases.
