1. Find the stem of the verb
2A. Add -ando to AR verbs
2B. Add -iendo to ER/IR verbs
2C. Add -yendo for ER/IR stems that end in a vowel.
2D. IR verbs that change e->i or o->u in 3rd person of the preterite also show this stem change in the present participle.
